The final artwork of the Audi logo was created by MetaDesign using FreeHand. We converted it to
Illustrator, as development work on FreeHand had stopped. To bring the final artwork up to
the state of the art of programs and systems, we consolidated and optimized the entire suite by

  • Reducing the number of DTP applications from four to three and harmonizing the shape of the rings in the various application sizes
  • Optimizing the edges of the rings for the new sizes
  • Softening the gradients in the rings
  • Smoothing out the transitions between the monochrome areas and the gradients
  • Improving the line connections in the rings
  • Optimizing the logotype for the various sizes (cut, spacing, etc.)
